Do we practice on mannequins + live models
When training in lash extensions, you will spend a few hours practicing on a mannequin to understand the key components of lash extensions. This practice session aims to enhance your comfort level with clients and help you master the proper positioning of your hands and tweezers throughout the process. Subsequently, you will dedicate the remaining time lashing live models. Conversely, if you are participating in a lash lift training day, the focus will solely be on working with live models, without the use of mannequins.
Do Courses come with certificates?
Yes, all LABB courses come with a certificate upon completion. However, certification is granted only after fulfilling the specific model requirements, tailored to each individual trainee and course. At LABB, our focus is on fostering true learning, so certificates are earned through practical application of acquired knowledge and skills in the trainee's personal time. We have seen other academies in New Zealand hand out certs too quickly and that is when things can turn pear shaped. We don’t want anyone to take shortcuts in this industry, it is most important you learn the correct way. Your business will also be much more successful this way. LABB will be there to help support you while you gain your certificate in your own time.

What courses come with a kit?
All of our courses come with a kit to see you over 50+ clients after taking the course. Please note that the kits do not included beds/lights etc. The kits specifically include products for your services.

Like any new career path, learning the art of lash extensions can present its own set of challenges. It is not a skill that one can easily master overnight or acquire after just a day of training. LABB's founder, Nicole, poured countless hours into honing her expertise in lash extensions. Through sheer hard work and unwavering dedication, she transformed a small endeavor into a lucrative 6-figure business within a span of nine months. Nicole's key advice emphasises the importance of perseverance and having faith in the learning journey.
Having undergone subpar training at an academy in Auckland, Nicole found herself struggling initially, pushing her to work even harder to excel in the craft. This personal experience led her to establish The LABB Academy, a unique training center that aims to impart the skills she painstakingly acquired through trial and error. What sets The LABB Academy apart is its commitment to ongoing support, with trainees gaining access to additional training days post their initial program. How many students per training
We typically accommodate 3 students in each training session. While we value personalised one-on-one training, we have noticed that small group settings tend to create a more comfortable learning environment for our students. Moreover, by having a few individuals together, you get the opportunity to work on diverse models. Since each model is unique, you will never encounter the exact same set of eyes or lashes twice. This diversity enables you to practice on various lash styles during the training, preparing you to confidently work on different models once you finish the program.
When will LABB launch their online lash artistry training courses?
LABB is preparing to launch its highly anticipated online lash artistry courses.
These courses will offer comprehensive training in lash extensions, alongside essential business fundamentals designed to help you build confidence, attract clients, and grow a successful beauty business. This includes guidance on marketing, sales, and the foundations needed to scale.
We will also be introducing our lash lift training, which goes beyond technique to cover everything from setting up your business to building a strong brand and creating long-term growth.
Nicole has spent the past three years developing these programs, ensuring every detail reflects the highest standard of education and real-world experience. These courses will only be released once they are fully refined and aligned with the LABB standard.
Our goal is to create an immersive learning experience that mirrors being in the salon with us, whether in a 1:1 or group training environment, giving you the same level of support, insight, and hands-on guidance.
